Maintaining a 'hands on' approach to cargo management with attendance at load and discharge ports ensures all our clients' operational plans are followed and executed to the letter.

Long standing North West Express Line arrangements with Andersen Shipping of Singapore, and our relationship with the high profile BBC Chartering in the WA Line operation, is testament to Westlink's ability to nurture, build and develop long term win win relationships with some of the world's leading shipping interests.

Chartering

Westlink operates its own dedicated fleet that services our designated North West Express Line and WA Line trade routes. For the most part, our fleet capacity is more than sufficient - however, from time to time, and subject to cargo volumes and time sensitive deadlines, we are able to charter in extra tonnage to meet our clients' additional needs and special requirements.

Ship's Agency

Westlink facilitates the smooth running of all vessels under its charge. The Ship's Agency service covers all facilities - from the well being of the crew to the safe handling and supervision of your cargo - and includes:

  • Tugs / pilots / stevedore services/ liaison with regulatory bodies such as quarantine, customs and port authorities

  • Port clearance

  • Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) requirements, and to assist the Master to make necessary arrangements in event of deficiencies

  • Arrange technicians/mechanics etc, for any repairs including radio, navigation equipment, general machinery and crane repairs

  • Arranging stores, supplies and provisions

  • Delivery of spare parts to vessel

  • Arranging crew changes (flights, accommodation, taxis, passports, baggage check, quarantine etc.)

  • Medical services (doctor, dentist etc.)

  • Transport for shore leave
